Developments in logistics
The Nazi regime gradually brings the entire transport
industry under its control, and appropriates it for the
purposes of war. From 1939 onwards, absolute priority
is given to the transportation of goods needed for the
war effort. When the country's transport structures collapse
completely in 1945, the main task of logistics is to feed
the population.

History of Dachser
During the war, the regime requisitions all of DACHSER's
vehicles, and enlists most of the company's personnel.
1945 is the year of the new beginning. The company's site
in Kempten and the branch offices have been almost completely
destroyed. However, old and new contacts soon breathe
life back into the relaunched business. In 1949, "Thomas
DACHSER Spedition" is entered in the register of
companies. In the wake of the 1948 currency reform, the
economy of the new Federal Republic begins to get back
on its feet. |
