Since DACHSER was founded in 1930, the world's population has tripled, Germany has been divided and reunited, man has landed on the moon, and the age of globalization has got underway. We have played a major role in the history of European logistics, and continue to set trends for the future. DACHSER - a story with a long past and an even more promising future.


			1927-1937

Overcoming frontiers
Barriers to transport and communications between nations are overcome. Even the Depression following the Wall Street Crash of 1929 cannot halt this unrelenting momentum. The exchange of goods and ideas draws increasingly on technological advances.


	1938-1949

Turbulent times
War - reversing progress, destroying liberty, imposing hardship on entire populations. And war also meant the abuse of ideas and technologies that provide for millions. But in its aftermath, the unbroken human will rekindles the spirit of free movement.


	1950-1960

A new start and a new direction
The human race makes a new start, gradually overcoming the conflicts between nations and cultures. At the same time, oceans and time-zones shrink, and it becomes possible to cross the world in a single day. The idea of a real global economy begins to drive industry and trade.


	1961-1973

New dimensions
The world is split into East and West. Where individual freedom and a market economy bring affluence, people soon begin to take personal mobility and a certain standard of living for granted. The economy is fueled by competition, which demands a constant supply of attractive products. Television commercials promise viewers washing powders that can wash "whiter than white". That's what consumers want. And they want it immediately.


	1974-1988

Transitions
The nation states have learned to live in peace, and the balance of power in the world is relatively stable. This enables the western economies in particular to pursue their visions: international synergies are created, the transition from the industrial age to the information age continues, the individual's drive for self-realization is taken for granted.


	1989 - today

A new world order
The Eastern bloc collapses, Germany is reunited, and Europe moves towards ever greater economic and cultural integration. And yet things are not easy. German reunification is extremely costly, the collapse of the new economy shatters the dreams of a dot.com revolution, the terror attacks of 9/11 shake the world.
